CCAZ Blog Community Rules and Guidelines

Have you been frustrated about things that are going on in town and in our world? Felt like you didn’t have a platform to express those frustrations?  Well, now you have that platform. You can put it all out there on the new CCAZ blog.

But there are a few rules and guardrails to establish a civil, productive, and meaningful discussion.

The following are rules and suggestions to establish an effective blog.

  1. Stick to the substantive and relevant issues. No petty insults and name calling. Degrading others will not make an effect argument for your position. Issues and facts will.
  2. It would be to your benefit to write 500 words or less. If you can hold your blog to 350 words, it will encourage readers to initially start reading your contribution and they will be more likely finish reading what you have to say. You want to be inviting, effective, and strategic.
  3. You are free to choose any topic, issue or respond to what others have presented. We believe in a healthy and informative dialogue. If you want to give a shout out to the town about something they have done that’s positive, feel free to respond. If you want to give constructive criticism about issues that need to be addressed, please do. You can use it to brag about your children’s T ball game; Concerts in the park; The rodeo; Firewising the town – You name it.  Just keep it respectful and in good taste – no obscenities.
  4. All submissions Are reviewed for appropriate content as described. CCAZ reserves the right to exclude any submissions to our blog that we believe contains inappropriate content.
  5. CCAZ reserves the right to reproduce any submitted blog content in other social media platforms. Submitted blog content may be reproduced anywhere on CCAZ’s website.
  6. Since we live in a world that is absent of real debate, you will have the opportunity to respond to other people’s blogs. We at CCAZ believe in free speech and healthy debate. We reject the current cancel culture’s efforts to stifle and eliminate free speech.
  7. The great thing about blogging is if there is something that’s happening in town that needs to be brought to everybody’s attention, you can immediately post it on our blog. Hopefully it will promote a healthy debate and better understanding. Your information will now become timely and relevant in getting information to the public. The goal is to make Payson and the surrounding area a more informed, knowledgeable, and transparent community through your contributions.
  8. Submit all blogs to blog.ccazgila@gmail.com
  9. Make sure that you submit all blogs with the tagline and links to references listed in your blog submittal.

It’s exciting to have an open forum for topics important to Payson and Gila County residents. I look forward to having an active roll in this blog. Steve Otto
