The Payson Town Council has approve a motion to accept membership into the Gila
County Library District which includes the American Library Association ‘Library Bill of
Rights’. The only rights and protections it provides are the rights of the LBGTQ+
community. There are no stated rights protecting our children. Why? The depraved
are free to come into our public libraries and push their abnormal lifestyle into the faces
of our children. Most of us happen to believe in the concept of ‘age appropriateness’. I
wonder why, at least in Payson, are the citizens not willing to stand up and protect our
children? Where are the faith community leaders? Are we afraid of how the leftist and
the Roundup will respond?
Why did the Town make it a point to create a separate link to the ‘Library Bill of Rights’
in the agenda if not to rub it in our faces?
If you do not believe that this is a major concern for parents, children, and the Christian
community, then you have a set of values that are completely different than those that
have sustained this nation for decades – Christian values. Value that are the bedrock of
this nation and have been the foundation of our society for years. Values that have
been the cornerstone of the most accepting multiracial and multicultural nation in human
history; besides the most prosperous nation in history. However, evil has reared its ugly
head and we need to take a stand.
Four years ago, we had several Payson Town Council Members requesting that we not
allow Biblical Scripture to be included in town council proclamations or council
business. But it is just fine to allow profane beliefs to be displayed in our public
facilities, i.e., our library. My Lord, what have we become?
